Description¶
The LEAD Partnership is an Oklahoma State Department of Education-supported professional-development and implementation-support programme for early-childhood school leaders and prekindergarten and kindergarten teachers, focused on research-based early-learning practices.
Components¶
- LEAD Partnership professional development program for early childhood leaders and teachers: The LEAD Partnership is a program whose goal is "to support the Oklahoma State Department of Education (OSDE) to increase the use of research-based early learning practices through professional development and support of school leaders, prekindergarten (preK), and kindergarten teachers". Its activities include providing professional development on "play-based learning and high-quality interactions", developing implementation resources, and creating dissemination materials. The program targets improved literacy and math outcomes for early elementary students. (Leading Early Childhood Achievement et al. (2025))
- LEAD logic model chain from leader and teacher knowledge to student literacy and math outcomes: The LEAD logic model organizes the intervention as a chain of outcomes across three time horizons. Short-term outcomes are "Increased knowledge of research-based early learning practices, including play-based learning and high-quality teacher-student interactions" for school leaders and preK and kindergarten teachers. Medium-term outcomes are that school leaders "Adapt and implement school policies and practices to support use of research-based early learning practices", and teachers increase their use of these practices. The long-term outcome is "Improved academic outcomes in literacy and math" for preK and kindergarten students. (Leading Early Childhood Achievement et al. (2025))
