Description

MARSI is a self-report assessment developed by Mokhtari and Reichard to measure learners' awareness and use of global, problem-solving, and support reading strategies.

Components

  • MARSI-based questionnaire adapted to Vietnamese for measuring metacognitive reading strategy use: A 30-item, 5-point Likert questionnaire adopted from the Metacognitive Awareness of Reading Strategies Inventory (MARSI) by Mokhtari and Richard (2002), administered in Vietnamese with items clustered into three categories: Global Reading Strategies (items 1–13), Problem-Solving Strategies (items 14–22), and Support Reading Strategies (items 23–30). In this study it showed high internal reliability (α = .87) and was scored using high (≥3.5), moderate (2.5–3.4), and low (≤2.4) usage levels. (Thao M. T. Nguyen et al. (2011))
