Description¶
A linked database combining TALIS 2013 mathematics-teacher responses with PISA 2012 student responses from the same schools to support analysis of mathematics instructional quality from multiple perspectives.
Components¶
- Redesigned TALIS-PISA Link (rTPL) database linking teacher and student data from the same schools: The rTPL is a linked database combining TALIS 2013 mathematics teacher responses with PISA 2012 student responses from the same schools, using the shared anchor variable PISASCHOOLID. The article states "The TPL dataset builds on data from 3473 teachers and 31,584 students in 1115 schools" across the participating countries, with per-country samples in its Table 2. The study uses it to measure mathematics instructional quality from both teacher and student perspectives in the same schools; only mathematics-teacher TPL data were linked to PISA student data. (Xin Liu et al. (2023))
Claims¶
- The three-dimensional teacher-reported model does not hold in all countries, so configural invariance was not achieved and cross-country comparison of teacher-perceived instructional quality was hardly possible [+W]
- Mexico's measurement models differed from all other countries, so Mexico was excluded and the study reports seven countries [+W]
