Description

SQLSpaces is the COLLIDE group's tuple-space middleware for loosely coupled communication among learning-environment components and agents.

Components

  • SQLSpaces tuple-space middleware for loosely coupled learning environment components: SQLSpaces is the COLLIDE group's own implementation of the Tuple Space concept, replacing the IBM T-Spaces implementation to achieve loose coupling of agents that communicate indirectly through notes in a shared-memory space. Generic clients were provided for languages including Java, JavaScript, Prolog, Python and C#. Giemza et al. (2007) showed how a classical AIED error-diagnosis approach could be re-implemented on this basis with little extra effort, and SQLSpaces was used in the SCY project for collaborative inquiry learning.
