Description¶
Viewbrics is an online formative-assessment tool developed by Rob J. Nadolski and colleagues for supporting teachers, peers, and students in assessing and improving oral presentation skills.
Components¶
- Viewbrics online tool integrating video-modelling examples with analytic text-based rubrics and a progress dashboard: The Viewbrics tool is a dedicated online tool supporting formative assessment of oral presentation skills with analytic rubrics in text-based and video-enhanced versions. Video-modelling examples "contain question prompts that illustrate behavior associated with (sub)skills performance levels in context, and are presented by young actors the target group can identify with". It supports teacher, peer, and self-assessment, reflection, goal-setting, and a dashboard visualizing per-subskill progress (green improving, blue constant, red declining) with emoticon feedback. The tool was "incrementally developed and validated with teachers and students to structure the formative assessment method in classroom settings". Its rubrics cover eleven subskills scored on four-point scales, organized under logos, ethos, and pathos. (Rob J. Nadolski et al. (2021))
