Description¶
The four-month training-of-teachers program was organized so that "five sections were covered: phonics as the core, Oral English skills, English teaching skills, English teaching principles, and English textbook teaching." The phonics core taught 26 single phonograms, eight types of multiple phonograms and phonics spelling rules, while other sections built oral English, interactive teaching skills (games, songs, stick figures), teaching theory, and textbook analysis. Spelling rules were learned through games, nursery, story and body language rather than directly.
