Description

Virtual actualization is the authors' proposed concept for VET, in which e-learning providing innovative features such as video tutorials is combined with performance (practical) learning. Students "will be able to actualize their learning outcomes in virtual form into concrete projects". The article presents this as a preliminary study of a model development research project, arguing the combination is expected to be effective because e-learning and practical learning complement each other.

Design Implications

Context

Requirements

  • E-learning must be combined with, not replace, practical VET learning, since e-learning cannot fully be used in conventional practical learning

Constraints

  • The article reports this only as a preliminary study and a proposal for future research, not as a tested model

Target Learners

  • VET students in vocational high schools and higher education in Indonesia

Learning Goals

  • Technical and practical job competencies
  • Theoretical learning outcomes in vocational subjects
