Description¶
A validated role-tailored higher-education survey instrument developed by Stella Y. Kim et al. for measuring students' and instructors' readiness, perceived benefits, and perceived challenges regarding generative AI in teaching and learning.
Components¶
Claims¶
- The faculty readiness scale required two model modifications (a cross-loading item and two residual correlations) to reach adequate fit [+W]
- No previously validated GenAI perception or readiness instrument was designed for both instructors and students in AI-enhanced higher education [+W]
- A confirmatory factor analysis on a new sample confirms the three-factor structure with acceptable model fit and moderate convergent validity [+W]
- The student GenAI-RP readiness scale shows a validated three-factor structure: GenAI Comprehension, Ethical Awareness, and GenAI Utilization and Proficiency [+W]
- The Challenge scale's three-factor structure was confirmed for students but did not reach satisfactory fit for faculty [~W]
- The Benefit scale's two factors (Effectiveness and Empowerment) fit satisfactorily for both groups, but their near-1.00 correlation suggests a potential unidimensional structure [~W]
