Description¶
Irûmi is an educational programme developed by OMAPA, Paraguay's Ministry of Education and Science, and the Inter-American Development Bank that uses robot-supported classroom activities and teacher training to develop second-grade computational-thinking skills.
Components¶
- Irûmi educational robot-based CT program for second graders: Irûmi ("companion" in Guaraní) is an educational program developed by OMAPA, Paraguay's MEC, and the IDB to develop CT skills in second-grade students. It combines "a curriculum of 18 classroom activities, supported by a technological kit featuring a robot", with teacher training through four workshops and monthly tutor visits. Activities span Disconnected Activities, Familiarization Activities, and Reinforcement and New Topics, using the Smart Robot Albert, 56 coding cards, and erasable navigation boards. (Emma Näslund-Hadley et al. (2026))
Claims¶
