Description¶
The article frames co-teaching as collaborative teaching in which "two or more professionals delivering substantive instructions to a diverse, or blended, group of students in a single physical space". It distinguishes co-teaching from team teaching, where teachers have equal roles using the same strategies, and reviews the delivery models made prominent by Friend and Cook (2010): one instruct/one watch, one educate/one aid, station teaching, parallel educating, option instructing, and group educating. The study applied a synthesis of team teaching models in which dual sub-teams planned each unit and both teachers attended lessons, taking different roles in the classroom or workshop.
