A curated knowledge base combining IT job advertisements and O*NET occupational data to map technical and non-technical skills to emerging IT roles for career exploration and workforce analysis.
Components¶
- **C3-IoC knowledge base built from the IT job corpus and the O*NET general job corpus**: The C3-IoC knowledge base combines two complementary datasets. From the UK 'Find a job' website, crawled weekly from October 2018 to December 2019, "Duplicated jobs were removed, resulting in a corpus of 22,359 jobs"; text mining with a Word2Vec model extended a 100-skill seed list to 902 terms, manually cleaned to "an IT skill dictionary consisting of 195 unique skills", and 26 job roles were identified. From O*NET 2019 (version db_24), "we considered a total of 142 skills and 381 job roles", restricted to roles over 50% of respondents ranked as requiring a Bachelor's degree or higher.
