Description

Go-Lab is an online ecosystem and teacher community that supports the creation, sharing, reuse, and refinement of inquiry-based learning spaces and resources, developed and maintained by the Go-Lab Initiative.

Components

  • Go-Lab/Graasp Inquiry Learning Spaces with online scaffolding tools: The experimental condition used virtual learning environments from the Go-Lab project, built on the Graasp platform. "The platform involves Inquiry Learning Spaces (ILSs) as learning resources that foster inquiry learning" by following "the inquiry cycle phases of orientation, hypothesis generation, experimentation, conclusion, and discussion". ILSs can include virtual/remote labs, scaffolding apps, and multimedia. In this study teachers developed nine ILSs for force and energy, each covered in about two hours over five weeks, using a hypothesis scratchpad and an experiment design tool as scaffolds.
